Social Skills Program

Our social skills programs are designed for children with specific deficits in learning and using pragmatic and social skills, including children with ASD, Asperger’s disorder, ADHD, and NVLD.  A skilled team of Speech and Occupational therapists, along with trained volunteers and staff, run a variety of groups based on age and ability levels. Routines, role play, and peer modeling are used to target a variety of pragmatic and social skills, including conversation, perspective taking, and basic life skills. Groups are formed based on both age and ability level and are offered throughout the week.

Parent Support Group

Our parent support group meets Saturday mornings. The group is facilitated by a social worker and activities are developed by the group as a whole. These groups provide support and friendship for parents who have children with special needs. We also have speakers in various areas of expertise. All parents are invited to attend the group, with childcare provided in the lobby. This group is made possible in-part by Prevent Child Abuse Iowa.
