Weather and Emergency Closing Policy
To ensure the best consistency of services for your child, we have amended our policies for unscheduled closings of the Children’s Center for Therapy.
In the case of inclement weather closings, Children’s Center for Therapy will make a decision regarding closure of the facility by 7:00am CST. Closure information will be made available to local media outlets (radio and television) for broadcast on their networks. Information will also be available by calling Children’s Center for Therapy to hear weather related messages, or by clicking our website.
In the event of an emergency causing closure of Children’s Center for Therapy, parents will be contacted by phone as well as the aforementioned media outlets.
It is our desire to establish an emergency email notification as well. Please ensure that Children’s Center for Therapy is provided with your contact information for inclusion in this process.
If inclement weather will prevent you from bringing your child to therapy safely but Children’s Center for Therapy remains open, we ask that you call to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible. In the case that the Iowa City schools are closed and Children’s Center for Therapy remains open, we will make our best effort to accommodate requests to make changes to your child’s appointment in order to ensure consistent therapy services, as well as the safety of all.
