North Liberty Office Manager
I have so enjoyed working at the Children Center’s North Liberty site. CCT’s children always make me smile! I’ve met so many wonderful people since I started- both therapists and parents.
I have five precious grandchildren: Madigan, 14; Nelson, 12; Kinsee, 12; Tommy III, 11; and Sydney, 11. You can imagine the fun we have when we’re all together! I’m also the mom of Tom and Terry Brands, and I encourage all of you to attend a wrestling meet at the University of Iowa this season!
I have a Masters Degree in Counseling, and before I retired I was the Director of Admissions at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, IA. I’m glad to be in the Iowa City area and also to be part of CCT’s family.
Where are you originally from?
Born in Minnesota, but has since lived in Wisconsin, Illiniois, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Sheldon, Iowa!

If you could be any cartoon character, what would it be and why?
Cinderella. She overcame many hardships and found happiness

Still trying to figure it out! So many possibilities!
What is your favorite childhood memory?
On Christmas Eve when I was about 10, my family from Virginia, Colorado, and Nebraska all came home. Grandma’s sunporch was filled with brightly wrapped packages, and one of mine had an angel on top! Bells rang as we walked to church and the softly falling snow glistened like diamonds in the moonlight. Later, her house was filled with sounds of happy people chattering and laughing together! Yummy food and a lot of excitement!!
